Guatemala.-Cuban cooperation has been the main cause of Guatemalan athletes' outstanding results in recent years.
This assessment was offered to Prensa Latina by the leader of the cooperating group for four years and a half, Jose Antonio Miranda, shortly before returning to the island yesterday with the satisfaction of having done his duty.
This trajectory, individual and collective, has been widely recognized by both the administration of President Alvaro Colom and the state mission of Havana in Guatemala.
Pan American Games Guadalajara-2011 evidenced that the efficient performance of an athlete depends largely on his qualities and attitude, but without a good coach it all can be in vain.
Miranda recalled that from the seven gold medals won in this continental event, two of them, were supported by the work of Cuban collaborators.
In Mexico's competitions, the delegation of this country had a historic performance, reaching as many titles as in all previous editions together.
