HAVANA, Cuba.- Cuba beat host Bahamas 85-54 and in the process won the Caribbean Women's Basketball Tournament that concluded on Sunday in Nassau, and which granted a ticket for the Central American and Caribbean Championship of next year (Centrobasket 2012).
On Sunday, Taimi Fernandez led the Cuban attack with 22 units while Clenia Noblet and Yamara Amargo contributed 18 and 14 points, respectively. This was the Cubans' fifth consecutive victory in the contest after they beat the U.S. Virgin Islands (87-42), Trinidad and Tobago (80-32), the Dominican Republic (80-73), and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (97-37).
