HAVANA, Cuba.-The book "Fidel Castro Ruz: Guerrilla of Time," by author Katiuska Blanco will be available today at the "Cuesta" bookstore in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, before its presentation takes place in three cities of that Caribbean nation.

The edition by the Dominican Buho publishing house consists of two volumes containing a conversation with Fidel about the historic period of time prior to the armed struggle against former Cuban dictator Fulgencio Batista up to the triumph of the Cuban Revolution in 1959.

The Dominican edition includes a selection of personal quotes by different personalities, such as Colonel Francisco Caamaño Deño; former President Juan Bosch; poet Pedro Mir, and excerpts of a letter written by Cuban National Hero Jose Marti to outstanding Cuban independence leader, Dominican Maximo Gomez.

The book goes to the shelves prior to the visit by its author to the Dominican Republic, where she will make the official presentation in the capital Santo Domingo and in the city of Santiago de los Caballeros, well as in Bani, the hometown of General Maximo Gomez.

A brief prolog in the book by Hamlet Herman, former guerrilla with Francisco Caamano in the 1970s, underscores the great devotion of Fidel Castro for solidarity and internationalism, particularly towards the Dominican Republic.

"Fidel felt the unavoidable duty to reciprocate the actions for Cuban independence undertaken by Lieutenant General Modesto Diaz, generals Luis, Francisco and Felix Marcano, and by General Maximo Gomez, wrote Herman."
