Havana, Cuba.-The president of the Cuban Chamber of Commerce (CCC), Estrella Madrigal, met on Monday with Chinese business executives with the purpose of promoting greater investment in different sectors of the Cuban economy.
According to statements to Prensa Latina shortly after her presentation, Madrigal said the meeting was summoned to discuss legal, business opportunities and bilateral collaboration between the two countries. Held at the Cuban Embassy in Beijing, the event marked the beginning of a program that will also involve talks with leaders of the Chinese Council for the Promotion of International Trade, which will celebrate its 60th anniversary on Tuesday. Madrigal's visit to China also seeks to promote the upcoming 13th International Fair of Havana, scheduled for November, which is expected to be attended by a large group of Chinese business persons, as it is traditional. The participation of Chinese companies in the Cuban fair increases every year, both as exhibitors and visitors, as an expression of the economic ties between both nations, Madrigal told PL. |
